Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 provides for holding of a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions including those governed under any other law. Thus, the admission to MBBS course in AIIMS, New Delhi, JIPMER and all AIIMS like Institutions will be made through NEET. The eligibility criteria applicable to appear in NEET (UG) shall also be applicable to the candidates desirous to take admission to INIs like AIIMS.
Similarly, the criteria for minimum qualifying marks to be eligible for admission to MBBS course shall also be applicable to INIs. Further, the common counseling for admission to MBBS courses in these INIs shall be conducted by the DGHS as per the Time Schedule specified in the MCI’s regulations.
The NEET (UG) - 2020 will be conducted on Sunday, the 03 May, 2020 . The responsibility of the NTA is limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and for providing an “All India Rank Merit List” to the Directorate General Health Service, Government of India for the conduct of counselling for 15% All India Quota Seats and for providing the result to States/other Counselling Authorities.

  • The applicant must be at least 17 years old in the last week of December, 2019 to be eligible for the exam.

  • The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15 percent All India Quota Seats is 25 years – as on last week of December, 2019. However, there is an age relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.

  • Those applicants who have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English and have scored 50% marks in their Class 12 board exams are eligible for the NEET (AIPMT) exam.

NEET (AIPMT) 2020 Exam Pattern

 

Generally, NEET (AIPMT) 2020 exam is based on the syllabus prescribed by the NTA. There will be 180 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany subjects. The question paper will carry a total of 720 marks.

 

Important Points to Remember

  • There will be four sets of NEET (AIPMT) Question Papers.
  • The question papers will be set in both English and Hindi Language.
  • All the questions will be based on the syllabus prescribed by the NTA.
  • Each question can fetch you four marks.
  • One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

NEET (AIPMT) 2020 Syllabus is purely based on the syllabus prescribed by the NTA. NEET (AIPMT) 2020 MBBS syllabus and NEET (AIPMT) 2020 BDS syllabus will be same.
