Malappuram, once considered a socially and educationally backward state, saw a boom in the educational realm by the end of the 20th century.The SSLC pass percentage in Malappuram saw an unparalleled increase from 30% in 1999 to 96% in 2017. Educare Institute of Dental Sciences, established in 2007 were one among the top dental colleges in Kerala. Today, it’s risen to claim the status of one of the top institutions in Kerala conferring a dental degree. Student intake was 50 for undergraduate BDS course was initially 50 and was later increased to 100 in 2014.

The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme prepares students for careers in the modern world of dental practice by combining clinical studies with basic and advanced dental sciences. Once students have mastered basic competencies in the University’s skills facilities, they rapidly move on to treating patients in both the Dental Hospital and local outreach clinics.
