ABOUT THE COLLEGE:

D.H.S.K. Law College is a private aided law school situated beside Red Cross Road at Khaliharmari in Dibrugarh in the Indian state of Assam. It offers 3 years LL.B. courses affiliated to Dibrugarh University. This College is recognised by Bar Council of India, New Delhi. D.H.S.K. Law College was established in 1965.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Eligibility for admission

Admission to LL.B 1st semester class is open to the candidates who have a bachelor degree from the  Dibrugarh University, or any other university, institution, recognized by the Dibrugarh University to be equivalent, with at least 45% marks in major or aggregate. Relaxations up to 5% of total marks in respect of SC/ST candidates and up to 3% in case of OBC/MOBC candidates are allowed as per norms of the Bar Council of India. . However the applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation/ post graduation through open universities system directly without having any basic qualifications for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission in law courses. Moreover, the minimum qualifying marks as mentioned above,  shall not automatically entitle a person to get admission into the college, but only shall entitle the candidates to fulfill other institutional criteria notified by the college at the time of the admission. 

Age limit for admission

As per Clause 28(b) of the Legal Education Rules, 2008 of Bar Council of India “Subject to the condition stipulated by the University, and the general social condition of the applicants seeking legal education belatedly, the maximum age for seeking admission into a stream of Three Year Bachelor Degree Course in Law, is limited to thirty with right of the University to give concession of five further years for the applicant belonging to SC or ST or any Other Backward Community.

Admission Procedure

Admission to the LL.B course is based on merit at the qualifying examination. Intending students are required to submit the filled up application form along with the requisite documents on or before the date as notified by the College from time to time. after verification of documents and payment of fees on the account of the College at State Bank of India, Dibrugarh Branch located at Thana Charali, their provisional admission will be confirmed. After deposit of the fee the counterfoil of the deposit form have to be submitted at the Office of College. The admission confirmed by the institution are subject to approval of the Dibrugarh University.

To promote cashless economy the College accepts admission and other fee through electronic modes only. the fee for admission is inclusive of admission fee, tuition fee, library fee etc. payable in single installment per anuum at the time of admission.

Reservation Seats

Reservation of seats for different categories of students are as follows:

  1. Schedule Caste                        -  7%
  2. Schedule Tribes (Plains)           - 10%
  3. Schedule Tribes (Hills)               - 5%
  4. OBC and MOBC                        - 15%

Cancellation of Seats

A Student may forfeit his seat under the following circumstance:

  1. A student shall forfeit the seat if she/he fails to attend classes without valid ground and permission of the authority for consecutive 15 days from the date of commencement of the classes.
  2. The name of the student shall also be struck of the rolls if she/ he is admitted to an equivalent course under any other college/institution affiliated to Dibrugarh University during the Academic session in which she/he is admitted to.
