ABOUT

Bagnan College is a non-government Grant-in-aid College affiliated to the University of Calcutta (C.U). It was established in July 1958 and recognized by the UGC under Section 2(f) right from the beginning. The college campus is situated at Khalore village, under Bagnan police station, in the Howrah district bordering the East Midnapore district (earlier Midnapore district). Bagnan College was founded by late Badal Chandra Maji with the aim of catering educational interest to the public at large in this part of Howrah district.

Affiliation:

College has been affiliated for the first time from the session 1958-59 by Calcutta University which is effective from the session 1960-61 with aids, assistance and grants from the Govt. of West Bengal and the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.

Accreditation:

The NAAC accreditation of B to the institution in 2005 has further strengthened the attempts towards academic excellence.
