Lajpat Rai College, Sahibabad, was established in the year 1967 to meet the growing demand of education in and around this town as no other College existed in its vicinity at that time. An idea then occurred to late Prof Ved Vyas, a great educationist and senior advocate of the Supreme Court of India and Late Prof. Dharmendra Nath Shastri, a renowned Sanskrit scholar of India, that such a College be established which could inculcate the ideas and abilities of Late Lala Lajpat Rai, a great freedom fighter of India, amongst the future generation of the country along with the sense of honour in respecting the teachers, promoting cooperation amongst the people, and developing leadership qualities amongst the students. The dream of these learned personalities became true in the year 1967 with the cooperation and financial assistance of Late Shri Mahendra Nath and Late Shri Narendra Mohan both being leading and famous industrialists of that time. Even today, Hon’ble Sh. Kamal Nath (Ex. Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh) who is a Member of Parliament, Government of India, is generously making efforts to fulfill the dream of his father Late Shri Mahendra Nath Ji. The College is run by a Society named “Lajpat Rai College Society''.
