The college has very good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: The highest salary package offered is 42 LPA by Microsoft, and the average salary package offered is 12 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is not known, but 5 LPA is the limit. More than 90% of the students were placed for the 2020 passing out batch. Top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Amazon, Facebook, Oyo, Flipkart, Futures First, etc.
Infrastructure: The college provides Wi-Fi in all the buildings including mess, student activity centre, lecture hall complex, department buildings and hostels. Food vendors are managed by the student committee, which is always open to feedback, and hence the food quality can be improved.

Faculty: Faculty members here are one of the most knowledgeable in India. All of them have PhD degrees in their respective fields. They are highly qualified as some of them have done post-doctorates as well. The course curriculum was changed, which is effective from the 2017 batch, and it focuses highly on societal problem-solving.

This answer is going to be dead honest. The reason I am going anonymous will be made clear below.
I will be going to compare it with other colleges of its league to better emphasize whether it stands out or not.
Infrastructure of IIT Ropar is better than 3rd generation IITs but that's it. If you compare it with any other IIT or BITS it stands nowhere near them. Currently it's operating from 2 campuses. Transit and permanent. Transit campus was earlier Girls polytechnic so you can imagine. You can also go to Google Street view for that matter and check it for yourself. Imagine studying very hard for IIT and ending up in a government polytechnic campus. As for permanent campus, it's no more than a construction site where your labs will be conducted. Yes, you have to travel 10 km to attend the lab from Transit to Permanent, since 1st and 2nd year reside in Transit campus. Don't worry, there are A.C. busses for that
It's 300 km from Delhi and 50 km from Chandigarh. Chandigarh is one of the best cities I have everything been to. But Ropar, it's a small town with nothing. Also, the Permanent Campus is at the outskirts of Ropar so nothing is available near it. However, the utility block has more or less all the facilities. You will feel like you have come to a village to live(which is any case true since both campuses are in villages outside the city) if you are from a Big city like Delhi. Plus point is that it's at the footsteps of Himalayas and if you want to explore the mountains then this is the best place to do it.
One great bummer that you will get when you will come to college is that professor are not that good at teaching as the coaching institutes teachers were. There are some professors who have great knowledge but fail to deliver. But there are some exceptions also. Some professors are very good at teaching and have good knowledge. But there are some horrible teachers who know nothing and teach shit. You will wonder how these became IIT Professors. As for teaching assistants, 4 out of 5 T.A are bad. They know less than you but your lab and quiz marks are in their hand. But the one which is good will be the person who will get you passed in that course. I don't think I would have passed any of my maths courses, hadn't it been those T.A.s . Also, your C.G.P.A criterion is a bit different, only one student gets 10 c.g. in a course here out 60–70 students. So if you apply Normal distribution here, you will notice that more than 60 percent students here have less than 7.5 C.G.p.a here. And many companies won't let you sit in placements if your c.g.p.a is low.
Student Affairs

The reason I am writing this answer anonymously is that if I don't then I will be forced to take it down by the authorities. This has happened with one of the answers here. Students have no say in anything that goes on on campus. If PhD students don't like you celebrating birthdays in the canteen then you can't celebrate it there as it will hamper their research talks at 12 midnight. Clubs are rarely alloted the budgets, since the Dean thinks that students are corrupt and they should only study. Students are actually corrupt, Zeitgeist the cultural fest is organised keeping in mind how much the core team can earn. Students will put zero brain in how the fest should be organised but will become smarter than even Einstein and Newton in discovering ways to scam people.

The college feels like our home. Whenever we get a one month holiday in winter, we get bored in our home and keep reminding the college. Internet facilities are very good. Hostel is clean. Mess food could be made better, but they don't have the choice. E

IIT JEE I scored 163. I opted for this college as I was interested in the Computer Science branch. IIT Ropar's CSE is very good.
Fee Structure And Facilities
As it is a government college, the fee is very less. For general and OBC students, it's 90000 per annum.
Placement Wing
Placements are very good as it's an IIT. Last year, every student was placed in the CS branch with an average package of 17 lpa.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are good but mess food is average only.
Seniors and alumni are very helpful in guiding throughout our college life. They tell us how to tackle each problem which we face. They behave just like their own brothers.
Faculty is very good. We always get a lot of support in every field. Courses offered are interesting too.
Campus Life
Campus life is good. Every student enjoys it. We have a lot of friends and weekends are celebrated. Gender ratio is horrible. Only 4 to 10 girls per 100 students. Competitions and seminars are organised every week. Students actively take part in it.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, we have a Training and Placement cell which helps students to get summer internships in 3rd year. Stipend ranges from 10000 to 50000.

College Events A number of events are celebrated. The college festival "zeitgeist" is very wonderful. Students from every corner attend it. Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, Holi is celebrated to

Our college is the best in North India.
Placements: About 80% of the students from our course got placed. The highest salary package offered ranges between 19-20 LPA to the CSE student. Maruti Suzuki always visits our college for placements. L&T visited from college to provide an internship, and few students also went to the finance sector like Bank. A top role offered to the students is an android developer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. When you enter college, you will see the academic block. Our college provides a high-speed internet facility on the Campus, and it is linked with our institute email ID. Quality of food served is very good, and the mess serves very balancing diet food.

Faculty: Most of the teachers in our college are post-doctorate, and they are from different specialisations in their field. The bridge between the student and the professor is very tight. Quality of professors is the best. The course curriculum is very easy and can be understood by anyone. The course curriculum is based on industry 4.0. Other: Events named Zeitgeist, Advitya, Aarohan and Desh are organised at our coll
